The Gutsy Hormone Method

A gut-first, nervous-system-informed approach to hormone healing — for women and men.

The

Gutsy Hormone Method is built on a simple but often overlooked truth: the body is not broken. It is responding.

It may surprise you to hear that hormones aren’t the starting point. They’re downstream messengers, reflecting what’s happening in your gut, your nervous system, your metabolism, and your immune function. When those systems are supported in the right order, hormone balance becomes a natural outcome.

And because physiology alone doesn’t create change, the Gutsy Hormone Method integrates functional medicine with life coaching. Even the most personalized protocol won’t work if the person living it doesn’t feel capable, supported, and aligned with the process.

The philosophy

The body is not broken. It's responding.

A core commitment

We test. We don't guess.

Conventional care often hands you a narrow snapshot: a single marker, a limited panel, a “you’re fine.” But the body doesn’t operate in isolated markers — it operates in interconnected systems.

This method uses comprehensive functional testing from the outset, so we can identify root causes early, skip ineffective interventions, and build a plan that’s targeted and efficient. Meaningful data, interpreted in the context of the whole person. No guesswork.

The missing link

Why a protocol alone isn't enough.

Most of my clients arrive with a long list of things they’ve already tried. They’re informed, motivated, ready — and yet also inconsistent, overwhelmed, and discouraged. That’s not a discipline problem. That’s how change actually works.

The Loop

Result

Actions aren’t driven by your protocol — they’re driven by your thoughts about it.

“This is too much.” “This isn’t working.” “I always fall off.” Those thoughts create overwhelm, resistance, and avoidance, which create inconsistency — which reinforces the original belief.

You can't out-protocol a belief system.

So we work on both: your physiology and your psychology, together.

The five phases

A sequence, not a checklist.

Each phase has a physiological focus, the testing we may use to guide it, and the coaching work that lets the protocol actually land.

Regulate

Create safety and capacity.

The Focus

Stabilizing your nervous system, sleep, and daily rhythm so your body has the capacity to respond to healing. Chronic stress disrupts hormone signaling, digestion, and immune function. Feeling safe in your body has to come first.

What we may test

Adrenal function and foundational blood work, establishing your baseline across stress, metabolism, and thyroid patterns.

The coaching layer

This is where all-or-nothing thinking, pressure-based motivation, and chronic overwhelm come into the light. We begin shifting from perfection and urgency toward capacity and consistency — because safety isn’t only physiological. It’s psychological.

Restore

Address toxins, rebuild the gut, heal the internal environment.

The Focus

Digestion, nutrient absorption, microbiome balance, gut integrity, detox, and inflammatory patterns — the foundation hormone balance is built on.

What we may test

Gut microbiome analysis and food sensitivity testing to identify dysbiosis, pathogens, and immune reactivity, and — when indicated — targeted testing for toxins, mold, heavy metals, and infections.

The coaching layer

This phase often surfaces frustration from past attempts and fear-based relationships with food. We move from rules and restriction toward understanding and responsiveness, and from self-blame to problem-solving.

Stabilize

Map out and balance your metabolism.

The Focus

Blood sugar stability, insulin sensitivity, energy regulation, and cravings — some of the most overlooked drivers of hormone imbalance.

What we may test

Continuous glucose monitoring, comprehensive blood work across glucose, insulin, lipids, and inflammation, and full thyroid panels read in context. We never reference a single marker in isolation.

The coaching layer

We normalize the very human pull toward immediate relief, and begin connecting today’s actions with the future you’re building — shifting behavior from reactive to intentional.

Decode

Understand your hormone patterns.

The Focus

With the foundation in place, we look at hormones in the context of your whole system: sex hormones in women and men, thyroid-adrenal interplay, stress and detoxification pathways. The question isn’t just “are they high or low?” It’s “what are they doing, and why?”

What we may test

Advanced hormone testing covering production, metabolism, and clearance, plus cortisol-pattern testing. There’s so much more to hormones than a singular blood draw — the conventional mode of testing.

The coaching layer

This is where the deepest beliefs surface: “my body is broken,” “nothing works for me.” We actively rework those narratives toward understanding and agency — because when beliefs change, behavior follows.

Integrate

Build self-trust and change that lasts.

The Focus

Translating insight into a sustainable life: habit formation, identity-based change, flexibility, and long-term maintenance. Testing becomes supportive rather than central — because your body is communicating clearly now.Blood sugar stability, insulin sensitivity, energy regulation, and cravings — some of the most overlooked drivers of hormone imbalance.

What we may test

Genomics, so we understand how your genes are responding to your environment. A blueprint and a heads-up for how to care for you well into the future.

The coaching layer

The deeper work here is rebuilding self-trust after years of starting and stopping. Small, achievable commitments, consistency over intensity, and evidence of your own follow-through. Joy acts as the engine — because behaviors that feel forced don’t last, and behaviors that feel authentically you, do.

Integrate

Capacity first, root causes early, precision throughout — and a you who changes alongside your physiology.

Most people have only ever seen a fraction of what's happening in their body — and even fewer have been supported in changing it in a way that lasts. This method brings both together.

Because healing isn’t just about what you do. It’s about how you think, how you respond, and who you become in the process.
